The Chinese Forrest Gump

My flatmate Open just told me that when he was in middle school he watched “Forrest Gump” and the part where Forrest decides to just run and run, without destination, made such an impression on him that he decided to do the same. Except on bike. He didn’t tell his family where he was going, just rode off from his house. He rode for 8 hours that day and in the evening stayed in a hotel, which in those days cost 10 RMB a night. He did this for four days, travelling through countless cities.

“Then what?” I asked.

“Then I was tired, so I got on a bus with my bicycle and went home,” he replied.

The tales of Open and Fish may one day require their own tumblr.
